Ever wonder how you can improve your conversation skills?  I know, I know, we're realtors....we should know how to do this.....right?  But maybe, you're shy and don't know what to talk about?  The best advice I can give you is - take the focus off of You and put it on the Other person....ask them questions....listen to their answers......pay attention.......and then, frankly, it won't matter whether you're shy or not!          ...

Housing starts returning to normal

By next year starts will fall in line with long-term averages

Despite British Columbia’s growing population and job numbers, a well-supplied resale home market will offer more choice to home shoppers and reduce the demand for new homes.

Housing starts will move back toward their long-term average by 2009, according to the latest forecast from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

While housing starts will be lower next year, they will remain high compared to historical levels.

Construction Still Major Employer

Abbotsford hits an all-time high

 

Construction employment rebounded in July following June's modest downturn and remains in the Lower Mainland Southwest region.
 

That's the analysis of the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, which looks at the Labour Force Survey from Statistics Canada.

 
Construction employment in July rose 2.1 per cent from June, to 129,400 thousand, and has increased 12.9 per cent in the first seven months of 2008 compared to 2007.
